We thought we should get away for a weekend since we had not done this in a while and with baby on the way, we should take advantage while we can. We had not seen much of Whangarei so decided to make a weekend of it. Well, it turned out to be a very miserable weekend - the weather was terrible, hence no photos. Nonetheless, we tried to make the most of it. My cousin, Warren, joined us and we just spent the weekend driving around in the rain and checking out the odd place of interest. In the evening we played games and entertained ourselves. To top things off, I had found this great little place (or so it seemed) to stay, but when we arrived, we thought we had the wrong place - it was very old and looked quite run down. We had a good laugh, but decided to stay anyway.
