As I have mentioned before, we live in Torbay on the North Shore (Auckland), a beautiful area close to the sea, with a holiday feel to it. Just around the corner from us, there are lovely views of Torbay, Browns Bay and the Hauraki Gulf with Rangitoto Island (a volcano) in the background. Have a look at the photos to give you an idea of the view we are greeted with when we return home after work.

We have been missing friends & family & life in South Africa quite a bit, so to aid us in this transition, we decided to get 2 kittens (again!) to liven up the place some. Well, they did more than that - as sweet as they are, they keep us really busy running around after them as they are incredibly naughty!?. You always have to check up on them. They themselves have been an adventure – never a dull moment with them around. I was busy on the internet one night and suddenly the connection was lost. I finally discovered that Jack had casually chewed his way clean though the DSL cable! Hence, the study is now a “No Go Zone”. Unfortunately you can’t make the entire house a “No Go Zone”, so we have had a number of incidents that required immediate action. Then they have their good moments where they are absolute darlings. They are purebred Burmese cats and their names are Lily & Jack. To meet them, click on the Photos button

Ingrid started her new Job on 27th March. She was going to take some more time off to work on her book, but this opportunity came up and she decided to take it. She now works as a Legal Secretary for Baldwins (also in the city) and seems to be very happy there. This was only the second job interview she had been for. After the first one, despite the fact that they were interested in her, she just did not right right about it, and just as well, because the position she has now was by far the better one! Unlike me, Ingrid is doing far better financially than in SA and the working environment sounds pretty cool too, so I am very happy for her. I don't know if I would ever find the working environment here, that I had in SA. I had it good and I nmiss Broll & its people... :-)
